Dr. Chris Baxter, professor of political science at the University of Tennessee at Martin, joined me on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 for my show.
Baxter and I discussed Super Tuesday, problems with voting and college-aged adults' voting habits. UT Martin students will be on spring break over Super Tuesday.
Baxter gave me an overview of voting and presidential elections. Though college students have a reputation of low voter turnout, that hasn't been true in recent years.
President Obama, Baxter said, was able to motivate students. Even though 2016 saw a minor drop in young voters, the rate was better than in the past.
We dug into why people vote.
"It has to make you feel good," Baxter said.
