Impeachment
President Donald Trump's impeachment trial started last week, but the real action starts today. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell drafted an organization resolution that shows how the trial will go, and, according to CNN, Democrats have raised questions. The resolution gives both the President's defense and impeachment managers just 24 hours over two days for their opening arguments. Trump's legal team is planning to say abuse of power is not an impeachable offense.
Chinese Coronavirus
According to CNN, a deadly virus spreading through China has killed six and sickened almost 300, kicking off nationwide containment efforts and anxiety in the medical community. This strain of the Coronavirus was first noticed in December, but scientists didn't think it could spread from person-to-person. Now they know it can. Chinese officials have canceled Lunar New Year celebrations.
Upcoming Election
The New York Times has endorsed Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar for the Democratic presidential nomination. This endorsement could sway unsure voters who wonder if a woman can win against President Trump. Meanwhile, the alleged media black-out of Sen. Bernie Sanders continues with Sanders struggling to gain any publicity.
