President's Trial

The Senate will vote on whether to call witnesses Friday. Despite the uncertainty in the chamber, it's likely Republicans will attempt to block witnesses. If that is the case, Senators could vote to acquit President Trump and end the trial possibly today. It's unclear how the trial will affect the presidential election. The broad presidential powers outlined by the President's defense could reshape the way future presidents view their duties.

Coronavirus

The World Health Organization has declared the Wuhan coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern. The move serves as a signal to governments to take the outbreak seriously. According to CNN, at least 213 people are now dead, and more than 9,000 cases are confirmed. In the meantime, though, doctors in America are stressing the importance of the flu shot. The flu has sickened more than 15 million Americans and killed more than 8,000 this season.
