The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed 1,992 cases of COVID-19 across the state Thursday, Oct. 9, 2020.
The department also confirmed 63 deaths, which is the new highest single-day increase. There were also 1,414 recoveries.
They reported Weakley County had a net increase of seven cases, bringing the total to 132. Obion County has 259 active cases, which is a net increase of 13 cases.
University of Tennessee at Martin officials say there are 52 active student cases, along with five faculty and staff cases. Both categories increased by one.
