The OVC announced that UT Martin sophomore guard Paker Stewart has been named OVC Newcomer of the Week. Stewart becomes just the second Skyhawk to win the award 5 times in one season after 2-time All-American Lester Hudson accomplished the feat in the 2007-2008 campaign. Playing every minute of UT Martin's last two games, Stewart has averaged 25.5 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal a night over the last week. He matched a career-high 33 points in a loss to Morehead State on Saturday. Stewart currently sits in 2nd place in the OVC in scoring with 20.3 points per game. UT Martin will return to their home floor after a 4-game road trip on Thursday as they host Tennessee Tech.
