Updated: Nov 14, 2022

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Student Government Association will host its annual Diversity Week this week, Nov. 7-11. The week included daily activities including free food, trivia and t-shirt giveaways.

The events are being put on by the Multicultural Affairs Committee, this year chaired by Joana Aguirre. The week will be supported, also, by both Senate and Freshman Council.

On Monday, students will get the chance to enjoy “A Taste Around the World” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Center Hallway. Different countries will be represented for campus community members to stop by and enjoy free samples.

Tuesday, the committee will host “A Day in My Shoes.” Everyone walks a different path in life, this event will provide students the opportunity to give everyone a glimpse into a day in their shoes. All are welcome to come out to the University Center Hallway from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Test your knowledge in the diversity trivia game while also sampling some desserts from around the world on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The Kahoot! game and dessert will take place at 2 p.m. in the Multicultural Lounge, UC Room 214.

The final event for Diversity Week will be a Creed Signing & T-Shirt Giveaway on Thursday, 11a.m.-noon in the UC Hallway. Sign the pledge to support the Skyhawk Creed and receive a Diversity Week T-Shirt.
