UT Martin Snaps 2-Game Losing Streak with Home Win Over Tennessee Tech

The UT Martin Men’s basketball team got a big win last night. The Skyhawks defeated Tennessee Tech 74-62 to snap a 2-game losing streak and move within 1 game of the OVC's 8th seed. A big defensive effort gave the Skyhawks a commanding 31-point lead in the second half, and helped the Skyhawks hold and held on late as UT Martin held Tennessee Tech to 62 points, the lowest defense total against a Division I opponent all season. Quintin Dove led 4 scorers in double figures with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Parker Stewart scored 16 points with 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Derek Hawthorne pitched in 16 points with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The team returns to action Saturday as they host Jacksonville State, who currently holds a 1-game lead on UT Martin for the 8th and final spot in the OVC Tournament field.
