UT Martin Women's basketball looks to get back to work this Saturday against Murray State

For the first time in 16 days, the UT Martin women's basketball team will hit the hardwood, and they have an excellent opponent in rival Murray State. The Skyhawks currently hold a 4-10 record and rank 8th in the OVC but are looking to find their groove here in conference play.

UT Martin is led by junior guard Paige Pipkin and graduate forward Holly Forbes. Pipkin ranks as the Skyhawks leading scorer with 13.9 points per game, while Forbes leads the team in rebounds per game with 5.9. Head coach Kevin McMillan has also gotten a nice contribution from freshman guard Shae Littleford who comes into this contest averaging 10 points per game to go with 2.8 rebounds per game.

The last time out UT Martin lost a heartbreaker to Tennesse State in the Music City, 66-65 on January 6th. The Skyhawks led for 33 minutes in that game until a chaotic fourth quarter occurred with seven lead changes and the Tigers of Tennesse State coming out with the victory.

After four postponements, the Hawks will face a brutal schedule with 11 games in 23 days starting this Saturday against Murray State. UT Martin will have to contain the Racers star sophomore forward, Katelyn Young. Young comes into Saturday's matchup as the OVC's leading scorer (20.6 PPG) and rebounder (8.1 RPG). Tip-off is set for 5:00 P.M. CST on ESPN+.
