Vanguard Theatre presents Our Town

The University of Tennesse at Martin Department of Visual and Theatre Arts and The Vanguard Theatre present Our Town by Thornton Wilder.

Shows are on Thursday, Oct. 6th through Saturday, Oct. 8th at 7 pm and Sunday, October 9th at 3 pm. Our Town is directed by Melanie Hollis, Lecturer of Theatre at UTM. Tickets to see this production are available online on the VTA Event Page, $15 for adults and $10 for students and children. The online ticket store closes 2 hours before each performance.

Auditions were open to any students, staff and community members back in August. Starting rehearsals in early September, the cast has faced a quick turnaround in preparation for this week's shows.

Our Town is a 1938 metatheatrical three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens.
